Coral HamacaVacation

. On May 31, 2001, four travelers embarked on a journey into the unknown.  Okay, so Cathy and I went with my parents to the Dominican Republic.  We'd never been there, so it was unknown… We started the trip at Newark Airport, waiting for the plane that would take us to the tropics
Cathy and Mom waited patiently in the lobby while Dad and I waited in a very, very, slow moving line to register at the hotel.   One thing about the resort, there was no hurry… at all.  Even when you'd like a little.

The hotel was absolutely gorgeous, situated in Boca Chica on a protected bay.  The water was warm clear and calm.  Everything the Jersey Shore isn't.  We spent most days just lounging on the beach, enjoying the sun.  With plenty of sunscreen, of course,  we burn too easily.
There were plenty of palm trees and "Tiki" huts under which we could seek shelter.
Our rooms were over looking a gorgeous pool, complete with swim-up bar.

We mostly ate in the "specialty" restaurants, the buffet had some strange things (Goat with Oregano).  The Italian was the best, and the Caribbean and Mexican were both excellent.

Another very good vacation.  As you can tell, I like my vacations. What will our next destination be?

Only time will tell.

Until then…
