Howard Clifford Seifried

The pictures below are from my grandfather's service during WWII. He didn't speak much about it much when he was alive. I am in the process of putting together information. If you recognize anything in these pictures, please let me know.

Please note the picture sizes, some are quite large. The images were scanned with an HP ScanJet 3300C, which has a maximum resolution of 600dpi. I hope to get a better scanner and rescan the images.

I believe the first picture is his Basic Training graduation picture. The names of the each person is on the back, along with their home state. Of course my grandfather just wrote "Me N.J."

The next picture is very large. I believe my grandfather was stationed in Georgia at some point. I have identified the Army Air Force insignia and the Third Air Force insignia on various uniforms. However, I don't know exactly where or when this was taken. Most likely 1943, since my grandfather went to Europe in 1944.

My grandfather is marked in the image at the botom of the page. I have cropped his image from the larger picture.

Information was written on the back of the last set of pictures. They were produced in Wengen, Switzerland. They are dated 12/25/1945 and I believe there is a reference to the Jungfrau Hotel. If you recognize the mountains, let me know.
