Divers in the Water

I earned my dive certification on a cruise in the Caribbean. St. Thomas is a great place to get certified, great viz, shallow dives and beautiful women, I mean fish..... yeah... fish.....

Certification Dive

This next set of dives is from the Dominican Republic. The diving was very nice, but the fish population is decimated. When asked by another diver what the fisherman were going after, the divemaster replied, "Whatever they can catch."

Cruising the western Caribbean, I had great dives in Belize (Tourneffe) and Cozumel.

Belize.

Cozumel (Santa Rosa Wall & Yucab).

Cozumel had some magnifcent diving. I did ten dives over five days with Dressel Divers at the Iberostar Cozumel. The dives were awesome and the staff at Dressel was great. They gave me lots of tips on breathing technique and photography. Divemasters Matt, Pino, Charlie and Morgan along with everyone else did a great job.

Here are the pictures.

While staying at the Copacabana Resort in Riviera Maya, I dove with Dive Aventuras. I did two ocean dives and the Cenotes (underground rivers). The Cenotes were an amazing experience, diving in Caverns with stellactites and stellagmites all around. It was a great time. I didn't take my camera in the ocean as visability wasn't that great (compared to Cozumel) but I did have it in the Cenotes. Enjoy.

Cenotes.

April 2006 - I was in Barbados on business (how many times can you say that) and got a chance to dive. The first dive was to about 85 feet on Castle Reef off Needham's Point south of Bridgetown. There were 3-4 foot waves and a good current on the surface. The reef was very health, but there was a lot of particulate in the water.

The second dive was in Carlisle Bay - Wreck City. There were five wrecks intentionally sunk, the deepest at about 50 feet. Lots of divers and snorklers. Awesome freighter and great fish.

Barbados Dives.

August 2006 - St. John - good trip with Jack, Stacey, Trish, and (of course) my lovely wife Cathy. But the dive and snorkeling pictures are just me and Jack. Pretty good vis, lots of fish, okay coral..

St. John Dives.

August 2007 - St. John - another good trip. This time with a fully (PADI Open Water) certified Jack. He could go on the real dives. Next year... Advanced Open Water

St. John Dives - Take 2.

July 2008 - St. John - I love this place. We did it, Jack and I are now Advanced Open Water certified. Tricia completed her Open Water cert, and is now a diving maniac.

St. John Dives - 2008.

Memorial Day Weekend trip with Jack, Tricia and the Indian Valley Scuba crew. AWESOME diving.

Key Largo - 2009.

Dutch Springs - 7/5/2009.

Diving out of Nags Head, NC - August 2009.

Dutch Springs - August 29, 2009.
