The Estuary

On one particular day, the beach and the inlet were both "red-flagged" due to rough seas. Cathy and Dad had decided to go to the rooms for a nap, but Mom and I went snorkeling. The Estuary is the section of the river that is mixed with the ocean water.

We got our equipment and started on our journey.

Located deep in the mangroves forest, the water was brackish.

The fish were waiting just below the surface for us to join them.

For someone who didn't like to get her ears wet....

Mom handled herself very well in the water.
The surface of the estuary was calm, but the surface wasn't where I was......

I was swimming with the fishes.

Fishes, Fishes, everywhere.....
There were fish of all sizes and shapes. Some were fresh water, some salt water. If anyone knows the identities of these fine fish, please let me know. I hope to get some ID books for Christmas
